Tan Dai Hung Plastic producer reports performance

Tan Dai Hung Plastic Joint Stock Co recently reported that last year it gained 8.677 tonnes of plastic in output bringing in the total revenue of 290.146 billion dong and 8.776 billion dong in after-tax profit. The figures are expected to reach 7,000 tonnes, 243 billion dong and 21.1 billion dong this year.

Out of the after-tax profit of 8.776 billion dong, 438.810 million dong will be added to the company's finance preventive fund, 877.620 million dong for welfare fund, 7.28 billion dong will be shared under a dividend of 7% in cash to the shareholders and the unallocated 176.776 million dong will be transferred to 2008.

In addition, the company will offer 10.4 million shares worth 104 billion dong from the surplus capital to existing shareholders with a ratio 1:1 whereby total shares will be 20.8 million shares.

Building materials maker announces Q1 profits

Da Nang Construction Building Materials and Cement Co (DXV) earned VND216.3 billion (US$13.5 million) revenue in the first quarter of the year, a reduction of 4.74 per cent against the same period last year.

Building materials sold smoothly due to rising demand in the building industry.


Vinh Son-Song Hinh hydropower firm posts 102b dong profit in Q1

Vinh Son-Song Hinh Hydropower Joint Stock Co (coded VSH) recently announced that in the first quarter of this year it gained 144.942 billion dong in net revenue from sales and service provision, up 56.55% yoy and 102.072 billion dong from after tax profit, rising 71.78% year-on-year.

Last year, the company made a revenue of 370.16 billion dong and 254.38 billion dong from after tax profit.

With a capacity of 66MW and a yearly output of 230 million kWh, Vinh Son hydropower plant is the first large scaled hydropower plant in the central and highland areas of Viet Nam.

Searefico to offer 3.385m shares

HCM City's Searefico Refrigeration Engineering Joint Stock Co announced that it would offer 3.385 million ordinary shares at 10,000 dong par with a total value of 33.85 billion dong to existing shareholders to hike chartered capital.

The 3.385 million bonus shares will be offered to shareholders at the ratio of 10:7.3 meaning 73 new shares for 100 shares held.

The date to close the list of shareholders is May 31.


Energy construction firm to go public

Hanoi Securities Trading Center (HaSTC) on May 16 announced that it received enough documents from Energy Construction Joint Stock Co to list 3.25 million shares on the northern bourse.
The company with a chartered capital of 32.5 billion dong specialises in transportation, irrigation, civil and industrial construction and other services.

Power company’s Q1 profits rise nearly 57%

Vinh Son Song Hinh Hydropower Joint Stock Company (VSH), earned revenue of VND144.9 billion in the first quarter, 56.55 per cent higher than the same period last year. The company made more than VND102 billion profit, an increase of 71.78%.

VSH produces power, manages and maintains hydropower plants, does consulting, and trades in electric materials and equipment.

Bien Hoa Sugar to report its business result in Q1

Bien Hoa Sugar Joint Stock Co (coded BHS) recently announced its business result in the first quarter of this year with 229.33 billion dong in revenue from sales and services provision, up 31.06% against the same period of last year and 10.5 billion dong in profit, rising 49.4% against the fourth quarter of 2007 and falling 42.24% from the same period of previous year.

Vietcombank fund management arm releases 2007 fiscal report

The Vietcombank Fund Management Co (VCBF) recently released its 2007 brief fiscal report with nearly 133.348 billion dong in total assets including 3.56 billion dong in fixed assets and 93.64 billion dong in ownership capital.
Last year, the company posted nearly 68.237 billion dong in revenue from business activities, 3.48 billion dong in revenue from finance activities and nearly 54.529 billion dong from after tajavascript:void(0)

Light fixture maker sees brighter revenues in Q1

Rang Dong Light Source and Vacuum Flask Co (RAL) has announced first quarter revenue of VND264 billion, or a year-on-year increase of 2.5%.
This year, because of high input costs and rising interest rates, the company has targeted total revenue of VND935 billion, an increase of 11.18% on last year.
The company will continue investing in production line to make fluorescent and compact lamps worth VND16 billion and another production line to make 19-tonnes of glass tubes a day, valued at VND56 billion.

Sai Gon Cable Co to list shares

The Sai Gon Cable Co will list more than 29 million shares at the Ha Noi Securities Trading Centre on May 6.
The company, which specialises in the trade and production of electrical and telecom cables, is capitalised at VND300 billion (US$18.7 million), 31.1 per cent of which the State holds.


POT’s Q1 profit plunges 94.5%

Listed firm on the Hanoi Securities Trading Center, the Post and Telecommunication Equipment Joint Stock Co has revealed a post-tax profit of VND258 million (US$16,100) from the first quarter of the year, a plummet of 94.5% against the same period in 2007.
The company, capitalised at VND194.4 billion, pledges to continue with its planned projects this year in hope of achieving a pre-tax profit of VND45 billion on revenue of VND780 billion.


Ha Tien 1 Cement to buy back shares

Listed firm on the Ho Chi Minh City Stock Exchange, Ha Tien 1 Cement Joint Stock Co has said it will commission the Bao Viet Securities Joint Stock Co to buy back 300,000 shares from May 5 to July 5.
The capital used to initiate the buyback will be mobilised from the company’s investment and development fund.

Tien Phong Plastic pays 30% dividend

Shareholders of the Thieu nien tien phong Plastic JSC (Tifoplast) agreed on a 30% dividend for 2007 at the annual shareholders’ meeting on April 26.
Last year, the company’s total revenue hit VND 905 billion, up 12.9% compared to the targeted figure with a total production of over 33,000 tonnes, up 15% year-on-year.
Total after-tax profit hit VND 125.4 billion, up 5.5% compared to 2006’s figure.
According to Hoang Van Ngoc, chairman of the Management Board and General Director of Tifoplast, last year the company poured strong investment in modernising equipment and increasing production capacity from 30,000 tonnes a year in 2006 to 35,000 a year in 2007. At the same time, the company has also expanded its distribution network with over 200 sale agents and thousands of retail shops from Da Nang northwards.
Last October, the company was licensed to build a factory to produce plastic pipe in Binh Duong and is applying for construction of a similar plant in Vientiane, Laos. The company will also move part of its current factory in inner Haiphong city to the suburban areas to expand production.

This year, the company targets a total turnover of VND 1 trillion; total production of 36,000 tonnes and an after-tax profit of VND 140 billion. (Nhan Dan)
