Tan Hoa Plastics Joint-Stock Company listed on June 19 on the HCM City Stock Exchange (HOSE) to become its 152 nd company.
The company saw 520 shares traded on the first day, closing at 44,000 VND (2.4 USD) against a reference of 55,000 VND. A 20 percent price fluctuation is allowed on the first trading day.
Tan Hoa, which makes plastic packaging material, has a charter capital of 80 billion VND (4.8 million USD).
Nguyen Huy Cao An, its deputy chairman, said domestic customers account for 60 percent of his company’s turnover. Supermarkets overseas like Carrefour and Intermache are among the major buyers.
The company targets a turnover of 321 billion VND this year, 42 percent up over last year, and an unchanged gross profit of 15 billion VND.
It plans to move its workshops in HCM City to a new site in Long An province’s Tan Duc Industrial Park in the fourth quarter, tripling its annual capacity to 15,000 tonnes.
The land where the workshops are now situated will be used to develop office buildings and or factories for lease.

HOSE informs temporary trading suspension on May 28

In the afternoon of May 27, Ho Chi Minh City Stock Exchange sent an urgent announcement to securities member companies, informing that trading activities will continue to be halted on May 28 session.
The southern bourse announced on its website that its decision to temporary suspend trading activities on May 28 has been approved by the chairman of the State Securities Commission.
The temporary trading suspension is needed as HOSE technicians need time to discover the cause of the technical incident that affected the trading system at 8.53 am May 27th, 2008 and solve the problem.
All transactions on May 27 session on HOSE were cancelled due to an traordinary technical incident which affected the trading system at 8.53 am, May 27th, 2008.
This is the third time the HOSE trading system has experienced technical difficulties. The other two incidents occurred in February 2, 2007 and December 8, 2006.

The Ho Chi Minh City Stock Exchange (HOSE) recently approved four companies to list more shares on the southern bourse with the total volume of nearly 15 million shares.
Particularly, Sao Ta Food Joint Stock Co (coded FMC) was approved to list one million ordinary shares at 10,000 dong par. These shares were issued to strategic partners with the volume of 900,000 shares and the remaining 100,000 shares to the company's key employees.
Hanoi Maritime Commercial Joint Stock Co (coded MHC) would list 2.4 million shares. These shares are to sell to the existing shareholders at the ratio of one new share for two shares held and the selling price of 20,000 dong per share.
Hoa Phat Group Joint Stock Co (coded HPG) would list 8.26 million ordinary shares worth 82.6 billion dong.
Ho Chi Minh Metal Joint Stock Co (coded HMC) would list 5.2 million shares worth 52 billion dong.
The whole these shares were officially listed on the southern bourse from May 21.

Interfood sets up three subsidiaries

The Ho Chi Minh City Stock Exchange (HOSE) on May 20 reported that International Food Joint Stock Co (Interfood) has received investment licenses for its three subsidiaries including International Food Packaging Joint Stock Co (Interfood Packaging) with the total investment capital of 513.6 billion dong and chartered capital of 160.05 billion dong. Of which, Interfood holds 90% of total shares.
Interfood Packaging is expected to start operation by February 2009.
The second one is the Northern International Food Joint Stock Co (Northern Interfood) with the total investment capital and chartered capital of 583.2 billion dong and 178.2 billion dong respectively. Of which Interfood also owns 90% of chartered capital. The company plans to begin operation by March 2009.
The last one is Ava Food Joint Stock Co, which was transferred from Ava Food Industry Joint Stock Co with the total investment capital and chartered capital of 259.2 billion dong and 81 billion dong respectively. In which, Interfood owns 90% of total shares.

Ho Chi Minh Stock Exchange listed firm, Southern Seed Joint Stock Co (coded SSC) recently reported the business result during the first quarter of this year with 41.28 billion dong in net revenue from sales and services provision, rising 19.4% against 2007 and 7.8 billion dong from after tax profit, up 3.57% on 2007.
The company specialises in researching and producing seeds, seed export and import sectors and agriculture materials.
This year, the firm targets 177.163 billion dong in revenue and 25.518 billion dong from after tax profit. SSC also plans to invest 13.485 billion dong and US$5 million in projects within this year.
Closing the trading session on May 19, SSC-coded shares jumped 500 dong or 1.79% to 28,400 dong per share with 32,370 shares being transferred.

Listed firm on the Ho Chi Minh City Stock Exchange, Metallic Joint Stock Co (HMC) recently released the business results in the first quarter of 2008 with the net revenue from sales and service provision of over 1.115 trillion dong, jumping 42.2% from the Q4 2007, after-tax profit of 15.92 billion dong, rising 86.8% yoy and 45% from the Q4 of last year.
The company targets to gain 3.8 trillion dong in revenue, 60 billion dong in pre-tax profit and a dividend of 16-18% in 2008.

Dong Tam Joint Stock Co (DTC)'s shareholders' meeting recently passed the plan to scale up its chartered capital to 679 billion dong from the current of 523.9 billion dong via offering 15,505,250 additional shares to existing shareholders and strategic partners.
This year, the company together with its subsidiaries plan to jointly carry out 12 projects with the total investment capital of 1.211 trillion dong.
This year, DTC targets 1.5 trillion dong in revenue, 250 billion dong from after tax profit and dividend of 25-30% while that figures were 508.79 billion dong, 102.58 billion dong and 17% divided in 2007 respectively.

The Ho Chi Minh City Stock Exchange (HOSE) recently announced that the registration deadline for Cat Loi Joint Stock Co (coded CLC) to close the list of shareholders book to is on May 30 and the ex-interest date on May 28 to pay dividend of 30% in shares for 2007 with the total volume of 3,023,985 shares.
The transaction date is expected on June 25.
Reportedly, in 2007 CLC made a revenue of 813.948 billion dong and 45.597 billion dong from after tax profit.

OPC Pharmaceutical Joint Stock Co (OPC) is now in a hurry to finish the last proceedings to list shares on the Ho Chi Minh City Stock Exchange (HOSE), said Truong Duc Vong, OPC's managing director.
This year, the company targets 210 billion dong in total revenue, 38 billion dong from after tax profit and dividend of 18%.
OPC also plans to put into operation its branches and the second pharmaceutical chemistry workshop with WHO's GMP standard within this year.
Last year, the company gained 180.14 billion dong in revenue, 33.88 billion dong from after tax profit and dividend of 18%.

The Ho Chi Minh City Stock Exchange (HOSE)-listed Hai Phong Paper Joint Stock Co (Hapaco-coded HAP) recently registered to buy back one million HAP-coded shares to make fund shares from May 19 to August 20 according the mode of matching orders and negotiation.
The capital to buy back these shares is from the company's profit and capital surplus.
Reportedly, on May 9, STC-listed Sao Ta Seafood Joint Stock Co (coded FMC) also announced to buy back 300,000 FMC-coded shares to make fund shares within three months from May 16 to August 16.

Ho Chi Minh City Stock Exchange yesterday announced that May 21 is the deadline for Tu Liem Urban Area Development Joint Stock Co (coded NTL) to close a list of the shareholders to pay a dividend for 2007.
Under it, the listed firm will pay the 2007 dividend in shares at a ratio of 1:1 on July 20, 2008.

Sai Gon General Service Corporation made pre-tax profits of VND80 billion (US$5 million) this year from total revenue of VND2.2 trillion ($137.5 million).
Shareholders would receive a 15% dividend, said the company’s general director, Nguyen Vinh Tho.
Savico will continue to invest its capital into three main fields, trading services (40 per cent), real estate (35 per cent) and financial investment (15 per cent).
It recently announced that it would list its shares, with the code SVC, on HCM City Stock Exchange (HOSE) instead of on the Ha Noi Securities Trading Centre (HaSTC).

The Ho Chi Minh City Stock Exchange (HOSE) decided to punish two trading agents for cancelling orders illegally during an order matching period of the May 7 trading session.
Following the decision, the HOSE sent out official dispatch No968-969/SDGHCM-TV warning the two trading agents, one from Sai Gon Securities Inc. (SSI) and the other from the Bao Viet Securities Joint Stock Co (BVSC), of the action being taken against them.

A three-day financial seminar and exhibition will begin in HCM City on May 30 as part of co-operation between Singapore’s NextVIEW Group and the HCM City Stock Exchange.
"This year’s Asia Trader&Investor Convention (ATIC) is more evidence of our commitment to HOSE and Viet Nam to provide investor education, data services and international marketing expertise," Stephen Lai, CEO of NextVIEW Group, said at a press briefing on Wednesday.
The first two-day ATIC was held by the group in the city last May, in co-operation with HOSE, attracting some 4,000 investors.
He said the event was targeted at high-quality investor education, a one-stop financial marketplace and investor networking.
This year 50 seminars and forums will feature 40 international and local financial experts delivering talks in Vietnamese, English and Chinese. Topics covered will include Viet Nam and global outlooks, stock market trading methods, money management, properties, gold and commodities investment, co-listing opportunities for Vietnamese companies and overseas investment opportunities. HOSE and NextVIEW will invite around 100 international fund managers, brokers and financial investors to participate in the Viet Nam Investment Summit event during the opening session.
